Chainmonsters Demo Preview

On Thurday October 6th 7pm CET / 10am PT the highly anticipated Chainmonsters Demo will be released to Steam, iOS (Testflight) and Android!

No access code or invite required! Just head to our website https://chainmonsters.com/ on Thursday evening/morning, download the game through your desired platform and press Play - your account will be created in the background without registration required.

Let's get into the juicy details now!

World Battles

Running close to wild Chainmons may trigger their attention ("aggro") and makes them attack you! In this case you are pulled into a battle which happens right in the game world.

Every ability in the game is now empowered by awesome visual effects that make them feel unique and strong depending on the species.

Massive Multiplayer

Our massive multiplayer experience enables thousands of players to join the same server which are further divided into multiple instances of up to 100 players at the same time. We recently concluded some stress tests and... well.. it get's crowded!

Hence we have improved the user experience to hide player names outside your direct vicinity.

After you have completed the first chapter of the story you will be able to challenge other players to prove yourself.

Improvements to Graphics and Performance

Of course, thanks to new additions to the team we have also pushed up the visual fidelity as well as the performance on all platforms and devices!

Time of day cycles, awesome new environments and much polish went into the game since March.

The game is looking pretty much the same on all platforms and our minimum supported devices are running at stable 30fps!

Hi everyone! We are incredible excited about how well everyone has enjoyed our Closed Beta Phase 1 and we recently released another development update on our official development blog:

We would like to use this opportunity on Kickstarter to tell you about our plans and timeline for physical rewards from our campaign.


We are now considering our "Open Beta" launch - which is currently set to end of 2022 - to be our "main" or "1.0" launch. With the very first full island of the game and almost all core-set gameplay mechanics included, we would like to end our "closed beta" cycle and move on to our next major phase.

The story, characters, Chainmons and world is expanding from that initial first island to multiple large-scale islands over time. Extending the main storyline, adding new challenges, faces and mechanics over time.

For backers that supported us with physical tiers that means that we are starting to pickup pre-production on all physical items this year too!

We have not yet charged cards for shipping through BackerKit yet and we won't do so until we are closer to the actual production timeframes and have notified you beforehand of any pending changes with designs or additions, etc.

It's probably a good idea to share our two main sources for information again just in case anyone was not aware of them yet:

Both of them receive weekly and monthly updates including work-in-progress materials. Make sure to check it out!

Since we have now finalized our 3D workflows we are starting our previously announced contests and community-voting for various opportunities including but not limited to new chainmon-designs, cosmetics etc etc very soon!


We will utilize the Kickstarter Blog to post backer-only information going forward, primarily aimed at physical rewards and their production/shipping progress.

2021 has been incredible exciting for all of us at B-Side Games and with how fast and quick development is going we expect 2022 to be our biggest yet!

Chainmonsters Development Update November 2021

In this exciting development update we are tackling the latest tasks prior to Closed Beta and look forward to its upcoming launch! (we also have some Kickstarter exclusive images for you in here!)

Closed Beta

We have explained a few ways for how to get access to Closed Beta in a recent post:

Please note that the game is not currently available and is expected to launch into Closed Beta end of November/early December.

Development Progress November

Throughout the second half of October up until now the whole team and every department has been hard at work focussing on the Closed Beta launch.

Gameplay

One of the biggest and most important new features is the completely revamped battle system we have been teasing previously - just today it has been fully implemented and now goes into the tweaking and optimization stages.

Furthermore various gameplay mechanics have been tweaked, the new base stats and scaling has been introduced and entered the polishing stage.

Art

Our art team has been pushing out outstanding new concepts and designs that are being produced by our incredible development partner Rocksalt Interactive.

Audio

David our music and sound composer has gifted us with a new soundtrack which - partly - will be available in Closed Beta already.

The UI - now mostly final - has received a fair share of brand new SFX as well.

Story, Quests, etc

There is also a new member of the dev-team who will be introduced in the near future. They are joining as a full-time writer and have already refactored a huge chunk of the game's overall storyline and are now focussing on the story quests for the very first island.

Extra

We are currently playing around with a new vegetation engine that is enabling dynamic wind and effects that turn our environment up quite a notch!

As we are preparing our systems for Beta, we need to remind everyone to claim your alpha access and your 25 bonus items (NFTs) by Thursday 30th of September 23:59 UTC!

Due to the way the game works on Flow Blockchain, rewards are provable scarce and limited meaning after Alpha they can no longer be claimed and/or created!

Your account on https://chainmonsters.com should be in the following state 

If this is not the case then please get in touch with our support team ASAP. If your message arrives later than our deadline then we cannot process you and we have to assume that you want to keep your access as a collectible without functionality for the future!

Our alpha is being turned off on Monday 4th of October so if you claim now then you can still enjoy a few more days before you have to wait until Beta.
